When Leo Fender adapted this simple circuit design from a vacuum tube application guide for use in an amplifier for his recently invented Precision Bass Guitar, he had absolutely no idea of the forces he was unleashing!

The original Fender Bassman amplifiers went on to become favorites of guitarists and bassmen alike. In England, they became the inspiration for the legendary Marshall stack.
